I’m a Data Scientist at Optum on the Clinical Language Intelligence team. I design and ship models that predict ICD‑10‑CM and CPT codes from clinical text, powering claims automation and human‑assisted medical coding. I track new modeling approaches and apply LLMs where they add reliability and lift.
I earned my B.S. in Computer Science with honors from California State University Monterey Bay, with concentrations in Data Science and Software Engineering. Before CSUMB, I worked full‑time in operations at Shift, an online platform transforming the car‑buying experience. During school I interned in data science at Linqia and later at Optum.
Outside work, I’m lifting or out on the bike.
